Madonna di Campiglio
Madonna di Campiglio is nowadays, one of the most fashionable ski resorts of the Dolomites. The village , at 1550 metres above sea level, is embedded in the stunning valley surrounded by the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello and Presanella glaciers. Campiglio offers tourists and keen skiers many kilometres of ski runs with different levels of difficulty and many kinds of slopes. Nowadays, the ski area of Madonna di Campiglio has 57 ski-lifts with more than 150 Km of ski runs and a capacity of 31,000 people per hour, the snow park is 50000 square metre big and there are around 40 km for Nordic skiing. Moreover, it is planned to connect this ski area to the Pinzolo facilities, as is the case of Marilleva and Folgarida. One of the most famous ski runs is the 3-Tre where the Ski world cup is held and where Alberto Tomba has had multiple victories. Madonna di Campiglio stands out for its upper-class reputation. In fact, many VIP people spend their Fun and Relaxing time in this place far from the centre of the country. It is in this village, where they feel at ease surrounded by unspoiled nature, and the views of ponds and valleys, streams, malghe (alpine shepherd huts) and shelters. Moreover, the area is also very active since it organises several events; see the “Winter Marathon” Old Car parade , the usual annual meeting with Schumacher’s Ferrari, the marvellous and suggestive Hapsburg carnival and many other important events that should not be missed. The Adamello- Brenta Park comprises five thousand hectares of meadows and forests, needless to say, the numerous trails offering enchanting views to those who walk along or even Mountain Bike them.
