Directly from Canazei, tourists can "get hooked” to the cable railway that takes them in just a few minutes from the centre of the region to the most important and spectacular skiing circuit: Sella Ronda. Once tourists have taken the cabin and arrived to the top, they can enjoy the sunny Belvedere basin; from here and due to the numerous facilities and they can easily reach the famous Dolomiti Superski circuit. There are countless pistes (slopes) that will leave skiers spoilt for choice - blue, red or black runs, pistes to cater for every taste. During summertime, Canazei offers a wide range of high-quality tours. The Dolomites peaks of Pordoi, Sella and Marmolada have been the locations for the hikes and climbs that have forged the world history of mountain sports. Boredom is not an option in Canazei- not even at night! Pubs with music and elegant ristoranti are part of the nightlife. The comune (municipality) of Canazei comprises also the 2 small frazioni (subdivisions) of Alba and Penia di Canazei. Although small, they also offer alternative piste at the ski areas of Ciampac and Marmolada. The comune is 1465 meters above sea level and has 1819 inhabitants. There are approximately 90 hotels, totalling 4406 beds.
