With the Irpinia, Avellino, Benevento, Sannio, Caserta, the Matese area, Naples (the capital), the Vesuvius, the islands, Salerno, the Cilento area, and thousands of other locations, the Campania Region is one of the most varied Italian Regions from the artistic, archaeologic, and naturalistic points of view.
In the Campania Region there are splendid parks and reserves where it is possible to participate in guided excursions so as to discover the fauna and the flora in the renowned Parco Nazionale del Vesuvio, in the Riserva degli Astrona, in the Riserva Regionale Campi Flegrei, and in the Parco Nazionale del Cilento.
Numerous are the protected oases: the Oasi di Persano, Monte Polveracchio, the Riserva Naturale dei Monti Eremita and Marzano, and the Parco Regionale dei Monti Picentini.
There is an extraordinary archaeological patrimony in the evocative cities of Pompei, Campi Flegrei, and Paestum, the Amalfi coast, the Gulf of Naples with its beautiful islands like Capri, Anacapri, and the renowned Ischia, where there is a prestigious spa and wellness centre.
Naples is certainly one of the most visited Italian cities in every season, be it winter or summer. This is thanks to its vicinity to the Vesuvius volcano with its multiple skiing slopes, the sea, and the architectural beauty which are not only concentrated in the historical centre, but above all in the small streets and the squares. How can one not mention Castel Nuovo, Palazzo Reale, the Angioino Cathedral, and the numerous churches.
One must not forget to visit Benevento. As well as the monuments and museums which are present in the city, not too far away there is a location which is frequented by the religious and not: Pietrelcina, destination for those devoted to Padre Pio.
Finding a hotel in the Campania Region, wherever one wishes to go, is not a problem. The proposals from the hotels are particularly convenient and it is possible to choose from holiday packages which are ideal for the whole family.
