Amalfi
Amalfi daintily overlooks the sea as the characteristic bunch of houses clinging to the rocks. It has narrow streets swerving amid arches and blind alleys, and antique towers guarding the village. Amalfi is an extremely picturesque town characterised by enchanting panoramic sights, incredible cliffs falling dramatically to the sea, mild weather, delightful beaches, and a wonderful grotto (Emerald Grotto) covered with stalactites and stalagmites. The artistic and architectural value of its monuments, the beautiful landscapes beyond description and the folk traditions have made of Amalfi a unique location.
The entrance to Amalfi is watched by the beautiful Torre di San Francesco (Saint Francis Tower), now called "Saracen", and at the summit, the hostel built from the antique monastery founded by Saint Francis himself in 1222.
