The Tuscany Region is probably one of the most "complete": the sea - how can one not mention the splendid Versilia, the mountains, and the art, all in one Region!
Renowned for its art cities, beginning with it's capital - Florence - and going on to Pisa, Lucca, Siena, Prato, Arezzo, Grosseto, and Pistoia. The seaside cities: Livorno and Massa Carrara, very well known for their beauty, the Islands of Giannutri, Gilgio, Montecristo, Elba, Pianosa, Capraia, and Gorgona.
In Tuscany there doesn't seem to exist an evident structural breaking point between the architecture to be found in the cities and the nature in which these cities are immersed. Here one can find different styles that are never in discordance with the surrounding environment.
There are many parks that have become protected areas, where nature seems really uncontaminated: the National parks of the Casentinesi Forrests, the Tosco Emiliano, and the Tuscan Archipelago, and the Regional parks of the Maremma, of the Apuane and di Migliarino Alps - San Rossore - Massaciuccoli.
Particularly renowned are the mountain locations where millions of tourists go every winter so as to practice winter sports like skiing, cross country skiing, snowboarding, and where one can participate in guided excursions towards panoramic points that take one's breath away: Alpi Apuane, Lunigiana, Garfagnana, Appennino Pistoiese, Casentino, Mugello, and Monte Amiata.
Many hotels in Tuscany offer holiday packages dedicated to wellbeing. As well as the famous spa's in Saturnia and Montecatini there are the ones in Florence, Gambassi, Lucca, Casciana, Equi, Uliveto, and many more.
