Saturnia

Saturnia, a small town of the Manciano municipality in the Grosseto Province, lies on the picturesque hills of the Maremma area. The town is well renowned for its spa centre and is the ideal destination where to spend a natural and relaxing holiday. Saturnia is a very appreciated tourist destination and its marvellous landscape and friendly hospitality attracts many visitors cramming its hotels, restaurants, bed and breakfasts and guest houses. The typical colours of the Maremma landscape are the ideal backdrop for the beneficial sulphuric water (800 litres a second) gushing out at 37° C into a large natural pool flowing to a suggestive thermal torrent called Gorello. Among the main architectural and artistic attractions there are the remains of pre-Etruscan and Sienese walls, the marvellous Porta Romana, the typical Piazzale Bagno Secco, the beautiful Castle (private property) and the remains of the famous Cassero, dating back to the 15th century.
