Lido di Jesolo

Lido di Jesolo is a Venetian comune (municipality) with around 22,000 inhabitants located North of Venetia. One of the main local economy resources is the homonymous Beach, which is one of the most renowned tourist points of the whole region. The first human settlements in the area can be traced back to the Early Veneto period: the population of the area has historically enjoyed the protection of the Romans who, in fact, colonized the territory in exchange for the alliance in the fight against Gauls. In the centuries to come and due to its strategic geographic position, the area became an Adriatic essential commercial axis at first, and then, an Episcopal seat; but the second millennium wars weakened its power and richness. The Beach of Jesolo, with its 15-km sandy coast, is the seaside resort with the greatest beach extensions in the whole peninsula: its inns, camping sites and restaurants are among the most internationally prestigious tourist facilities; as it is clearly shown by the great number of foreign holidaymakers that choose to spend their holidays in this suggestive Adriatic jewel every year. The soft dolomitic sand and the wonderful scenery offered by Beach of Jesolo, which is extended between the two mouths of the Piave River, are ideally accompanied by very organized accommodation facilities that can satisfy all types of tourist demands: this is the ideal place to spend unforgettable days full of entertainment, sport and joy of life. Those who love relaxation and culture can also find their match in Venetian lands visiting the archaeological excavations very near to the old Santa Maria di Equilium cathedral or going on fascinating trips on foot or by bicycle enjoying the exhilarating surrounding nature.
