Eraclea
Eraclea, a municipality in the Veneto region with a population of around 12,500 inhabitants, derives its name from the homonymous Roman-Byzantine town whose remains were discovered in the surrounding area. The town develops in the geographical area comprised between the Piave and Livenza Rivers. The local economy is mainly based on tourism: Eraclea boasts one of the most wonderful coasts of Italy and offers a wide selection of accommodation facilities surrounded by fairy-tale landscapes characterized by a vast pinewood and a lagoon (Laguna del Mort). Eracleamare, that's the name of the sea area, boasts 4 km of unspoilt beaches surrounded by a magnificent natural landscape, creating a holiday atmosphere perfectly in line with the "slow" pace of life of Eraclea where tourists can spend relaxing and peaceful holidays in a marvellous natural landscape. Visitors can choose among a wide variety of accommodation facilities such as bungalows, campsites, hotels, guest houses and villas. Legambiente, an Italian environmental association, has classified the beach of Laguna del Mort among the 11 most beautiful beaches of Italy.
