Bardolino
Bardolino, is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Verona, in the Veneto region. It has a population of around 6,000 inhabitants and it lies on the coast of Lake Garda, at about 30 km far from Verona. The first human settlements date back to very ancient times; however the first written evidence is of Medieval origin. Bardolino's economy is mainly based on tourism, which is very developed. Tourists can choose among a wide variety of hotels, campsites and guest-houses. Among the many attractions are the gourmet appointments such as the folk events that liven up the atmosphere in the squares of the town: the Grape Festival, Chiaretto Festival, Novello Festival and the Sagra degli Osei. The main architectural and cultural buildings in Bardolino are the Castle, the Church of San Zeno, the Church of San Severo, the Church of San Nicolò, the Chiesetta di San Vito, the Monastery of San Colombano, the Parish Church of Santa Maria, Villa Bottagisio, Villa Guerrieri, Villa Bassano Raimondi, Villa Marzan, Villa Giuliari-Gianfilippi and Villa Betteloni. The town is also very active since it organises several events such as the Thiathlon Championships, the Cisano Regatta and the Rassegna Campanaria.
