A splendid Italian Region, the Puglia Region reserves unforgettable sights for those tourists who love the sea, nature, and art: the Gargano, the Trulli, the Salento, the Tremiti Islands, Imperial Puglia, Bari, and Murge.

There are many protected areas: as well as the National Park in the Gargano, the Marine Reserve in Torre Guaceto which one can discover thanks to the organised guided tours, there is also the Protected Marine Area of Porto Cesareo.
Renowned are the Tremiti Islands in the Province of Foggia. This is a marvellous archipelago with grotto's, blue sea, and an uncontaminated flora and fauna.
Regarding the architectural wonders, how can one not mention the beautiful Assunta Cathedral in Lucera. However, the following definately deserve a visit: the Cathedral di Bitonto, the Cathedral and the Church in Monacelle di Ostuni, and the Cathedral in Otranto.
One of the unquestioned symbols of the Puglia Region are the Trulli in Alberobello, in the Valle D'Itria, where history has left numerous traces which are still visible nowadays.
There are many possibilities to go hiking, following theme-oriented pathways: for those who love nature and archeology the Peschici, Vieste, Mattinata, Vico del Gargano pathways are ideal.
For those who prefer aquatic sports there are locations in the Puglia Region like the Tremiti Islands that are devoted to diving.
For the local products one is only spoilt for choice. Obligatory is a taste of the renowned bread from Altamura.
