Sirolo

Sirolo is a small municipality in the Ancona province. Other neighbouring towns are: Numana, Castelfidardo and Camerano. Sirolo is a well renowned seaside resort on the Adriatic Coast of the Marche Region. The town is situated at 125 m above sea level. Sirolo offers accommodation facilities of all sorts, from luxurious hotels to budget accommodation. Thanks to its panoramic views, Sirolo has become a favourite tourist destination: the mediaeval centre is in fact teetering high above the sea. Sirolo is also famous for its crystal clear water attracting every summer tourists coming from all over Europe. Sirolo perfectly combines the sea with the natural landscape surrounding its territory. The town has been awarded with the "Bandiera Blu" (Blue Flag) by the Europea Community in recognition of its protecting the environment. The Sirolo Scuba Diving Centre organizes excursions into the deep crystal-clear waters to admire the seabed where many fish species live such as sea-bass, sea breams, mackerels, garfish, black tails, scads and many more. From the balcony of Piazzale Marino you can admire a breathtaking panorama. Spiaggia Urbani is the main beach with modern bath establishments and a steep cliff as a backdrop on the northern side. From there the beautiful and breezy beach of San Michele beach opens up, stretching up to the foot of Mount Conero. Among other beaches there are the Spiaggia del Santo, the Spiaggia dei Sassi Neri, Spiaggia dei Gabbiani or Spiaggia delle Due Sorelle. Sirolo has a population of 3,400 inhabitants, extending on a surface area of 16 square km representing a density of 207 inhabitants per square kilometre.
