Sestriere
Sestriere lies between the Chisone and Alta Susa Valleys at an altitude of 2035 m. It is a well renowned skiing resort thanks to its many pistes for downhill skiing and cross-country ski. Sestriere is part of the Via Lattea (Milky Way) skiing carousel and it comprises four urban centres: Sestriere Colle, Sestriere Borgata, Champlas du Col and Champlas Janvier. Sestriere's life and history are strictly connected to skiing: in 1967, the first World Championships were held in Sestriere with two downhill races on the "Banchetta" piste. During the summer, Sestriere offers various sports and recreational activities.
