Bellaria
Bellaria surrounded by Nature and the sea. Tree-lined boulevards and large green areas next to the sea make Bellaria - Igea Marina a perfect town where to spend relaxing and comfortable holidays. While walking along the tree-lined boulevards you can also enjoy shopping as there are lots of stores open day and night. A very interesting spot is Parco del Gelso (Mulberry Park) extending over 15 hectares right downtown, where colours and scents of trees and vegetation create a peaceful atmosphere. Located north of the city of Rimini, in the northern area of the province, Bellaria is considered one of the most important resorts on the Adriatic Riviera. Formerly a fishing village, Bellaria offers today the perfect blend of sea and hills of the Emilia-Romagna region. The symbol of the city is the Torre Saracena (Saracen Tower), which was originally built as a watch-tower to defend the city against pirate raids. Bellaria - Igea Marina beaches are fully equipped and represent the present and future of this resort In recent years attention has been focused on upgrading historic buildings, Viale Panzini and the beautiful Isola dei Platani (Sycamore Pedestrian District). The Isola dei Platani in Bellaria and Via Ennio in Igea are ideal places where tourists can enjoy relaxing walks along tree-lined boulevards and stores. Cafés are meeting places for tourists and residents. At present Bellaria has a population of around 15,199 inhabitants representing a density of 844 inhabitants per square kilometre.
